The Graduate Enterprise Internship is a program offered by FedDev Ontario. This hiring grant funding for business program helps fund internships for small and medium sized businesses. This is done through select post-secondary institutions that are searching for SMEs who can take on STEM interns for a 6-month period. Eligible institutions include:
- Ryerson University
- University of Waterloo
- University of Toronto
- University of Western Research Park.
Government Grants for Small Business Funding Amount
Eligible companies can receive a non-repayable contribution of up to 50% towards an intern’s salary for a 6-month period. This funding for small business will either be $10,000 for a Bachelors graduate or $15,000 for a Masters or Ph.D graduate.
The internship should provide the recent graduate an opportunity to receive practical, relevant work experience. The business is required to match the small business grant funding amount, in addition to any costs greater than the funding maximum.
