Within the DTAPP Government Grant Update, this program promotes the adoption of digital technologies by Canadian SME’s through the development of relationships between organizations and colleges and/or outside Canadian vendors. The overall objective of the program is to increase the productivity and growth of small- and medium- sized enterprises while providing the funding and networking opportunities to Canadian Post-Secondary Educational Institutes. IRAP’s Digital Technology Adoption Pilot Program (DTAPP) has a monetary commitment for 3 fiscal years as is fast approaching on March 31, 2012 for Year One Contributions.

IRAP’s Funding For Small Business

The Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP) is offering the DTAPP initiative to Canadian SME’s across all sectors. These organizations must display their potential for growth through their adoption of new digital technologies. The contribution acts as a cost sharing mechanism and will be applicable to the expenses associated with the analysis, implementation, and customization of new software and/or the direct labor and consulting components of implementing of new plant floor robotics.  If your proposal is accepted by the program, the government will also provide up to 80% of the payroll costs and 50% of the applicable sub-contractors fees for a project up to $100k contribution. Applicants are recommended to work alongside a Canadian University or College or leading sub-contractor to help them optimize their software in order to further improve the performance of the software and their overall productivity.

This DTAPP program is an $80 million dollar Government Funded Pilot Program that will run until March 31, 2014.
