Promoting Sustainable Behavior in Small Business

Centennial College will be holding their second annual conference to promote sustainable business practices by Canadian SMEs.  This year’s event will discuss the aspects and benefits of sustainable economies to businesses and their surrounding communities. Industry leaders and experts from Canadian academia will be in attendance to discuss the policies, equipment, and actions that are required to improve a business’ sustainability.

Canadian Government Funding for Sustainable Technologies

Businesses who are interested in improving their sustainability through the development of a new technology or service can browse the following Ontario Business for Sustainable Technologies:

  • SDTC Tech Fund: Businesses can receive compensation for late stage development or pre-commercialization expenses for clean technologies. Business funding grants can be applied to capital items, goods and services, and personnel labor costs, depreciation expenses.
  • NextGen Biofuels Fund: The Canadian government offers funding for small business for the development of biofuel technologies. Funds can be applied to specific activities including project assessment, definition, building construction, design, engineering, environmental assessment, and procurement of production equipment.
