The OCE Voucher Program is a collaborative funding program offered through the Ontario Centre of Innovation (OCI). The four funding opportunities provide Ontario businesses with financial support to work with academic partners to solve industry problems, develop new products & services, and to create online tools that support market expansion and exporting opportunities. In addition, OCI’s Voucher for Industry Association Challenge program provides sector driven, competitive funding opportunities for innovative projects that impact the industry positively.

OCI Voucher Program – Ontario Centre of Innovation

Amount of Funding

OCI Voucher for Innovation & Productivity

Up to 50% of project costs to a maximum $20,000-$75,000. Company contribution towards project to be made in cash & in-kind.

OCI Voucher for Commercialization

Up to $50,000 for up to 75% of project costs. 25% provided by applicant in cash and in-kind contributions.

OCI Voucher Industry Association R&D Challenge “Made in Ontario”

Maximum contribution from OCE of $100,000; Industry 2:1 matching (half cash, half in-kind); NSERC matches the cash contribution from industry, less overhead.

OCI Voucher for E-Business

Academic Institutions received funding to allocate to help companies – $2500/company.

Academic/industry collaborations to solve critical industry problems. Must be company’s first project with the academic applicant.

Applicant must be pre-recurring revenue or government investment of $250K or less. 

OCI Voucher Industry Association R&D Challenge “Made in Ontario”

Ontario based industry & academic partners are eligible for funding to solve industry critical issues.

OCI Voucher for E-Business

Supports Ontario based companies looking to develop online tools. College students help companies with development of online tools to support market expansion and exports.

Research to develop new innovative products, processes, and services. Projects must be geared towards expanding export markets.

Technology/innovation assessment, market assessment and strategy, prototype design and development, proof of concept demonstration, business and other plan development.

OCI Voucher Industry Association R&D Challenge “Made in Ontario”

Innovative projects that focus on solving an industry challenge. Project outcomes must focus on commercialization and increased productivity with significant economic impact for Ontario though job creation, and revenue creation.

OCI Voucher for E-Business

Website development, online sales process, digital and social media and customer relationship management.
