The pilot initiative addresses the gap between research and commercialization encouraging collaboration between small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and post-secondary institutions. Funding Activities may include proof of concept, demonstration and piloting, problem solving, certification, product testing, technology development, engineering design, and product and process applied research.
- Amount: SMEs will be expected to contribute a minimum of 50% of the project costs in the form of in-kind contributions and/or cash to the post-secondary institution. The University will receive up to a maximum of $100k per project to sponsor the activities or 50% of the total project costs.
- Timeline: Open to application submissions.
- Eligibility: Incorporated SME’s undertaking pre-commercialization and applied research development projects.
