Aimed at developing a pre-commercialization health technology or innovation towards the commercial market. The technology needs to have a proof of concept, including a registered IP with initial design and development stages completed, and some form of validation and testing completed.
- Amount: 50% of project costs, with projects estimated at around $200,000 over 2 years. Eligible costs include wages/salaries with benefits, direct R&D costs, commercialization and regulatory costs, and capital expenses. Funding is performance-based loans or convertible debentures.
- Timeline: Open. Average project length is around 2 years.
- Eligibility: Must be an Ontario-based SME in the health sector trying to introduce a new technology or innovation.
