Virtual Career Fairs for Fall 2020: Find and Recruit Top Talent

Recruitment Resources and Career Fairs to Attend During Fall 2018

Before COVID-19, in-person career fairs were a unique opportunity for employers to gain face-to-face exposure with relevant and engaged new graduates in order to expand their organization with talented and eager individuals. Job fairs have always existed to support professional networking and recruitment opportunities between youth entering the workforce and organizations looking to hire. Now that “face-to-face exposure” is a massive health risk and nothing is normal, where do students and Canadian businesses turn to?

Although in-person career fairs are inevitably put on pause, virtual career fairs are occurring so that businesses and students alike may continue to network and connect on job opportunities available across Canada.

For many small business employers, virtual career fairs may very well be the ideal setting to screen candidates while adhering to social distancing guidelines and limiting further exposure. Based on the professional video interactions that are able to take place, employers may then decide to request first-round interviews or even extend job offers, many of which may be remote, at-home opportunities.

Upcoming Virtual Career Fairs for Economic Growth

This fall, although many previous job fairs have been cancelled or postponed, employers from all sectors still have several opportunities to connect virtually with graduates, alumni, and other top talent to find the right fit for their organization and help with Canada’s global recovery and economic growth.
