AV Research and Development Partnership Fund: Technology Demonstrations
Receive up to $1,000,000 in Grant Funding.
The AV Research and Development Partnership Fund is an Ontario government grant program offered through the Ontario Vehicle Innovation Network (OVIN). Through the program’s Technology Demonstrations stream, lead applicants (technology developers) work with partners (typically other SMEs, large enterprises, post-secondary institutions, and non-profit organizations) to develop, prototype, and validate innovative autonomous vehicle technologies.
*Please note that AVIN is rebranding to the Ontario Vehicle Innovation Network (OVIN). The transition will be complete April 1, 2022 and current AVIN programs may be either appropriated into the new OVIN organization of closed.

Amount of Funding
Successful applicants may receive a co-investment totaling an amount up to 33% of total costs to a maximum of $100K per project per applicant.

Eligible Applicants
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs);
- National and multinational enterprises (NEs and MNEs);
- Publicly funded post-secondary institutions;
- Municipalities Indigenous communities; and
- Not-for-profit organizations.

Eligible Activities
Project costs associated with the development and demonstration of pre-market technologies (TRL 3-7) in the Connected and Autonomous Vehicle (C/AV) sector.

Program Deadline
Application intakes are on-going (typically two per year) until December 31, 2021, or when all funds are committed.
Please note that this program may close on April 1, 2022 when AVIN rebrands to OVIN.
