Be sure to mark your calendars for Canadian Digital Media Network’s (CDMN) Canada 3.0 2013 taking place in Toronto on May 14th & 15th, 2013. The CDMN is a national network of incubators and accelerators that bring together government, industry and academia to accelerate the commercialization of innovation, which in turn creates companies, wealth and jobs for the country. The CDMN has ten nodes across Canada that gather – along with 2,000 delegates – once a year to tackle the key issues that Canada must succeed at in order to improve our position in the global digital economy. The CDMN Canada 3.0 digital media forum is where the country’s bet minds work together to form an action plan, discuss and debate relevant topics and share best practices and success stories.
CDMN Canada 3.0 Event Details
In early July, the CDMN announced that CDMN Canada 3.0 will be held next year in Toronto for the first time in the conference’s five-year history. In the past, the event has been hosted in Stratford, Ontario, but will be held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
When: May 14-15, 2013
Where: Metro Toronto Convention Centre, 255 Front Street West, Toronto, ON
The CDMN is searching for prospective attendees, speakers, partners and sponsors to play an active role in shaping CDMN Canada 3.0 2013. Thus, they have launched the Canada 3.0 2013 Soapbox, the deployment of a crowdsourcing application that links into the Canada 3.0 Forum Facebook Page. Created by HitSend, a startup incubated at CDMN node Ryerson Digital Media Zone, the Soapbox platform allows users to offer, gather and share ideas, which can be voted on by other users using a simple click of a thumbs up or thumbs down icon. If the idea resonates within the group, it is then forwarded to the decision makers at CDMN who can implement user ideas. CDMN is then able to response, pushing a message back out to the community that submitted the original thought.
