Call for Nominations 2015 BDC Young Entrepreneur Award Startup Funding

The BDC Young Entrepreneur Award contest is presently accepting applications from eligible Canadian entrepreneurs. Applications are open to candidates aged 18-35  in Canada seeking to expand their business through innovation. Applications are now being accepted until March 18, 2015.

Two prizes are available to the contest winners.

Grand Prize: $100,000 towards implementation of the entrepreneur’s business plan in startup funding.
Second Place: $25,000 in consulting services with BDC specialists, along with national visibility.

How to Nominate for the 2015 BDC Young Entrepreneur Award:

If your current business is at a point where expansion is on the horizon, apply for the Young Entrepreneur Award contest for a chance at business funding support. To prepare your application, visit the Business Development Bank of Canada website for complete application details.

Note: Entries must be received by March 18, 2015 at 12pm EST.

BDC Young Entrepreneur Award Eligibility Criteria for Nominees

Candidates who meet the below criteria are encouraged to apply for the BDC Young Entrepreneur Award before the deadline. Full eligibility details can be found via PDF on the BDC website.

Eligible Applicants Must:

  • Be between the ages of 18 and 35 years old
  • Be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada
  • Have at least 2 years of responsibility in the day-to-day management of the company
  • Be in good financial health

The Business Must:

  • Be Canadian registered
  • Have its head office located in Canada
  • Be under management of the application for a minimum of 2 years
  • Be in good financial health

Businesses Considered Not-for-Profits Must:

  • Ensure that viable commercial economic activities are carried in out Canada
  • Demonstrate that private donations and government support exceed no more than 40% of their income
