Canadian small businesses are eligible for several types of Canadian government funding such as grants, loans, and tax credits offered by the Canadian and provincial governments to assist with a number of different strategic initiatives, including hiring, training, capital equipment, research & development, business expansion, and innovation.

Bernadeen McLeod, Canadian Government Funding Expert

Bernadeen McLeod, the President & Owner of Mentor Works Ltd., will personally walk through the top government funding programs at our upcoming January 30th free workshop in Markham, Ontario. This business event provides an overview of the most accessible programs, from business expansion, human resources & training, R&D, and capital investment funding.

When: January 30, 2013 @ 10:00am-11:00am

Where: Markham Small Business Centre, 7271 Warden Ave., Markham, ON

Workshop Business Requirements

The majority of Canadian government funding for small business units is accessible to companies who:

  • Incorporated in Canada for at least 2 years
  • Financially stable
  • Not a retailer/distributor
  • Not a start-up
  • Company must manufacture or conduct R&D in Canada

In order to get the most out of this workshop, we strongly suggest that your company meets the above criteria before registering for the presentation.

Start-ups and entrepreneurs should refer to their local Research Innovation Commercialization (RIC) Centre. There are RIC’s across Ontario providing support to start-ups, including business plan development, finding sources of funding, and more. Incorporated businesses that do not meet the above criteria, such as retailers and distributors, can still apply for a number of small business funding grants for hiring.
