Optimizing Food Processing Packaging Grant Released

A new Canadian government funding program has been released that will help optimize food processing packaging. The Optimisation des Emballages en Transformation Alimentaire contributes up to 70% up to a total of $51,000 per food processor located in Quebec, Ontario. The company can then carry out up to 3 technical and economic analysis and 3 design or process automation packaging-related projects.

Eligibility Factors: Food Processing Funding for Small Business

Eligible expenses under the Optimisation des Emballages en Transformation Alimentaire program includes:

  • Project development and implementation
  • Broadcasting project results to whole sector

 

Eligible projects for these Canadian business grants will analyze and implement optimization solutions responding to a problem identified following a technical-economic function of the packaging. Packaging optimization projects eligible for this Quebec government funding grant must result in:

  • Increased packaging recyclability
  • Reduced product loss
  • Reduced product obsolescence
  • Increased productivity
  • Reduced packaging costs
  • Reduced packaging weight
