Amount of Funding

Economic Capacity:

  • 100% up to $50,000 per year for two years

Economic Diversification

  • For Development Grant – 80% up to $100,00; and
  • For Implementation Grant – 80% up to $1 million

Forest Impact Transition

  • 100% up to $500,000.

Rural Economic Diversification and Infrastructure Program (REDIP)

Eligible Activities

Economic Capacity: Rural communities with populations of 2,500 or less outside of Metro Vancouver and the Capital Regional District and all Indigenous communities and organizations outside of Metro Vancouver and the Capital Regional District

  • Community assessment projects
  • Capacity building projects
  • Engagement projects
  • Staff recruitment

Economic Diversification: Communities with populations of 25,000 or less outside of Metro Vancouver and the Capital Regional District.

Development Stream:

  • Feasibility studies.
  • Business plans.
  • Program design.
  • Service planning.
  • Infrastructure design.

Implementation Stream: New/enhanced programs or services related to workforce development, business development, and industry/sector development, retention, and expansion. Construction of new assets or the upgrading of an existing asset to support the development, stability, and scaling up of businesses.

Forest Impact Transition: REDID-FIT applicants may submit projects that are eligible under Economic Diversification. (max funding $500,000).
