The AgriAssurance: SME Stream program is a stream of funding provided through the Canadian Agricultural Partnership (CAP), a 5-year framework to support Canada’s agriculture and agri-food sector. AgriAssurance is specifically designed to help businesses implement third-party assurance certification projects that address international market requirements and help expand export opportunities.
- Amount: Up to 50% to a maximum $50,000 in non-repayable funding.
- Eligibility: Canadian businesses, cooperatives, and Indigenous organizations operating/supporting the agriculture, agri-food and agri-products industry. Applicants must be directly involved in growing, harvesting, processing, or otherwise transforming or consolidating their products.
- Timeline: Open; continuous intake of applications until March 31, 2023, or until funding has been fully committed.
- Project Focus: Projects that help Canadian agricultural and agri-food sector SMEs get a third-party certification for the first time required to meet a specific export opportunity. Renewal of third-party certifications are ineligible.
