As administered by the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development, the BC Rural Dividend Fund assists rural British Columbia communities and non-profit organizations to reinvigorate and diversify the local economy.
- Amount: Depends on the type of applicant/stream applying for, including (1) Project Development: Up to 100% of eligible project expenses to a maximum $10,000, (2) Single Applicant: Up to 80% of eligible project expenses to a maximum $100,000, and (3) Partnerships: Up to 60% of eligible project expenses to a maximum $500,000.
- Timeline: Accepts applications during defined intake periods. The next intake begins June 15, 2019 and will close on August 15, 2019. Applicants are typically notified of a funding decision within four months of application. Projects must be complete within two years from the start date.
- Eligibility: British Columbia-based municipal governments (population of 25,000 or less, located outside Metro Vancouver and the Capital Regional District), non-profit organizations, and First Nations band councils or businesses.
- Projects: Community capacity building, workforce development, community and economic development, and business sector development.
