The primary focus of the project must be improving operational efficiency, reduce waste, or improve global expansion efforts. Successful projects include quality improvements, lean manufacturing, lean design, IT best practices, energy efficiency, entering new domestic and international markets, and environmental reduction programs. Funds being asked for any capital equipment must be going into the facility that has made the application.
- Amount: Projects selected for funding will receive 33.3% of eligible project costs, up to a maximum of $75,000.
- Timeline: Application window is open now until March 31, 2014 or until all $18.9M of funding is allocated. Project can be a maximum of 12-months in length.
- Eligibility Factors: Incorporated for 2 years, minimum of 15 employees up to a maximum of 1000 employees, and with a manufacturing operation in Ontario. Not necessary to be a member of Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) to be eligible. Limited funding so only the best projects will be selected for funding. Companies predominantly engaged in trading, exporting or distribution are not eligible.
