The AgriCompetitiveness Program is a stream of funding provided through the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (SCAP), a 5-year framework to support Canada’s agriculture and agri-food sector. AgriScience is specifically designed to help industry associations and Indigenous organizations coordinate and build on existing capacity, enhance safety, and adapt to changing commercial and regulatory environments.

Amount of Funding
Successful applicants may receive up to 70% of eligible project expenses to a maximum $1 million per year. Applicants may receive a maximum of $5 million lifetime value from the program.
*Total government funding support may not exceed 85% of project costs.

Eligible Applicants
To be eligible for the AgriCompetitiveness program, applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Must be a not-for-profit organization or indigenous organization;
- Can demonstrate the ability to deliver a national and/or agriculture and agri-food sector-wide project that includes; and
- Must be a legal entity capable of entering into legally binding agreements.

Eligible Activities
Eligible activities will meet the following requirements:
- Building skills, knowledge, and best practices among industry members;
- Helping the sector build leadership and facilitate knowledge transfer;
- Increasing business management and planning capacity within the sector;
- Promoting farm safety; and
- Increasing public trust.

Program Deadline
Program costs can be eligible as of April 1, 2023. Application Deadline: March 31, 2028.
