OMDC Export Fund: Business Grants for Digital Media Creation

Here’s a great new opportunity to receive government funding as a grant through the Ontario Media Development Corporation (OMDC). OMDC has a funding program called: OMDC Export Fund – Interactive Digital Media. This fund provides a Canadian business grant of up to $12,000 to cover as much as 50% of the project costs.

Who is the OMDC Export Fund for?

Canadian owned and operated corporations based in Ontario, as well as, film and television producers, music companies, book publishers who are export ready, in the screen based content creation area, can apply for government funding through the OMDC Export Fund. The goal of this Canadian business grant program is to provide financial support for businesses ready to market their Interactive Digital Media product internationally.

OMDC Export Fund Ontario Business Grants Eligibility

The applicant company needs to have a solid track record financially and be directly involved in the development of interactive digital media products. The funding provided by OMDC through this Canadian business grants program will support costs for up to 3 senior company representatives to travel internationally to attend trade shows for the purpose of introducing the product to new buyers. Other costs covered by the funding include marketing materials, a trade show booth and booth space rental.

Additional Costs Covered through the OMDC Export Fund

Other activities covered by the OMDC Export Fund include sales trips to visit potential clients, participation in international trade missions, and attending key industry events. The funding from the OMDC Export Fund will provide financial support towards up to 5 events during the timeframe of August 1, 2014 and August 31, 2015.
