Receive up to $1.2 Million in Government Funding.

As CQDM’s key initiative, the Quantum Leap Funding Program was created to help small-to-medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and Canadian universities with funding to work on cutting-edge, innovative pharmaceutical research projects with the overall goal of discovering cleaner and more efficient drug options.

Funding Amount

Up to 50-66% of costs to a maximum $1.2 million per eligible project.

Eligible Applicants

Canadian SMEs with less than 500 employees and public research institutions in Canada are eligible to apply.

Eligible Activities

Innovative research and development drug discovery projects with potential impact on drug research, scientific excellence, commercial potential, and economic benefits.

Amount of Funding

Eligible Activities

Projects may be eligible if they meet the following requirements:

TRL – The technologies of interest can be at any stage of the drug development process and involve a wide range of therapeutic indications;
Drug discovery research to significantly improve, facilitate and/or accelerate the drug discovery process and the development of safer and more effective drugs;
Quantum Leap projects are executed in close collaboration and with the expert support and funds of pharmaceutical members;
Projects are associated with specific deliverables and must be ready for use by CQDM pharmaceutical members upon completion; and
For scientists, the funded research opens new collaboration opportunities with world-class stakeholders in the industry.
