What is the CCAA Career Focus Canadian business grants for hiring program?

Career Focus is a wage subsidy program supported by Canadian government funding. The goal of the program is to connect recent graduates with jobs in their field by offering eligible companies small business grants for hiring recent graduates.

What is Special about this Career Focus Canadian Business Grants Program?

This program is specialized for the Aviation, Aerospace, and Defense sectors specifically. Grant funding for business is offered through the Canadian Council for Aviation and Aerospace (CCAA) to help aviation and aerospace companies hire for high demand roles.

What Companies are Eligible for CCAA Grants from the Canadian Government?

Companies in the Aviation and Aerospace sector are eligible for business funding grants through CCAA Career Focus.  In order to be eligible a company must also be able to provide a minimum of 30 hours of work a week for a minimum of 4 months.

Who is considered an Eligible Candidate for CCAA Career Focus?

An eligible candidate is a recent graduate from post-secondary education with a relevant background applicable to the Aviation and Aerospace industry. The candidate must be between 15 and 30 years old, eligible to work in Canada/Canadian citizen who is not receiving employment insurance.  Please refer to our CCAA Career Focus Eligibility Blog for additional information.

When Can my Company Apply for this Canadian Government Funding Program?

Applications are currently being accepted. However, with the program ending in March 2014, interested parties are urged to contact a Canadian government funding expert as soon as possible in order to take advantage of this program before it is too late. Internships must be at least 3 months in length.

    1. Hello Barb,
      I take it that since this program is funded by the Federal Government they would have to disclose to the public who receives the funding and how much. However, while this may be the case, such organizations do not always use this information to promote their programs, so it could be difficult to find. Best of luck to you!
