As part of the Economic Action Plan for 2013, the Federal government has announced additional funding support to the Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC). SDTC will receive $325 million over eight years to support the development and demonstration of new, clean technologies. SDTC is the government’s primary organization for assisting SMEs with funding and development opportunities related to clean technology. - Quantiam Technologies Inc.: Alberta’s Quantiam Technologies created a coating for petrochemical furnaces that reduces energy consumption by 5 to 25 percent and slashes GHGs
- Westport Innovation: Westport Innovations’ HD system replaces traditional the diesel that is traditionally used by transport trucks with a distinctive, Canadian made clean-tech alternative.
The SD Tech Fund assisted these projects in bridging the financial gap between development and successful commercialization.
